Do something amazing – help us to reintroduce rhino into Uganda

Looking for an exciting and worthwhile volunteering experience, then you are definitely in the right place. Rhino Fund Uganda (RFU) is looking for volunteers to help out at the Ziwa Rhino & Wildlife Sanctuary.

The last rhino seen in Uganda was in 1982. Civil war and poaching sadly brought about their demise but now a programme has been established to bring rhinos back to Uganda and start a breeding programme. When the numbers are sufficient, they will be reintroduced initially into Murchison Falls and Kidepo National Parks where tourists will be able to see them, along with all the other amazing animals and birds we have here.

RFU has now started a volunteer programme to enable people to support this exciting initiative. Volunteer placements starting with a minimum of 1 week involve a variety of tasks such as animal monitoring and rehabilitation, community education, local support and maintenance on the Ziwa ranch. All the necessary training will be provided. The program cost varies depending on how long you intend to volunteer and includes meals & accommodation.

Please come and help us reintroduce rhino into Uganda and get them back into their natural habitat. Your effort could be what it takes to help them succeed and it’s an experience you will surely never forget.
