How to use domestic flights to get around Uganda

When you want to pack in as much as possible but only have a limited time in which to do it, what’s the best way of getting around Uganda? Thanks to a well-established network of domestic flight routes to a variety of locations, you can easily travel to all or some of the places on your itinerary (and what’s more, you can enjoy stunning aerial views of the countryside and wildlife while you’re on your journey).

Location hopping using domestic flights

Scheduled flights connect many popular destinations but visitors should still note that there can be limitations in terms of days and timings of operation (and in some cases, minimum numbers of passengers are required).

Chartered flights are also available and we can make all arrangements and transfers on behalf of Venture Uganda guests. Got any questions? We are happy to answer any questions if you wish to fly.

With a little planning, it is possible to location hop between any of Uganda’s stunning national parks, and there have been recently added routes from Entebbe to Mbarara for Lake Mburo National Park.

If they wish, guests can travel even further afield with a flight from Entebbe to Kenya’s  Masai Mara via Kisumu or indeed to Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.

Is there anything else I should know about domestic flights?

Visitors travel via small aircraft and helicopters that are comfortable, safe and operated by highly experienced pilots – usually in a team of two for peace-of-mind. Generally, there are no cabin attendants and passenger numbers are limited.
#The luggage limit is around 15kg per person, which includes both hand and hold luggage, but it may be possible to purchase extra luggage depending on space and the numbers of passengers in the aircraft. Items must be carried in soft bags and not hard suitcases.

Flights to Kisoro (for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park) are weather and wind permitting.
