17-nights birding and wildlife safari

Duration:
17 nights

Tour reference:
SP202

Immerse yourself in nature on this birding and wildlife safari to Uganda, the “Pearl of Africa”.

Uganda has over 1,000 bird species, found across a range of habitats, making it one of the best birding destinations in the world. In addition, enjoy a thrilling encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas and track a chimpanzee family through their forest home. An hour spent observing these great apes in their natural habitat is amongst the top wildlife experiences anywhere. In many of these same habitats you’ll find other primates, large and small mammals, herps and insects. So, if you are an all-round nature lover and would like to see birds along with other wildlife, this could be the safari for you.

Touring the national parks and other locations in western Uganda is highly productive. Search the wetlands for Shoebill and other water birds; explore the tropical rain forests for Albertine Rift Endemics; and bird an extension of the great Ituri forest of the Congo looking for some of the Guinea-Congo forest biome species.
