Gorillas

Uganda’s Gorillas

Uganda is home to over half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. Seeing gorillas in their natural habitat is an unforgettable experience and one of the most popular activities offered by Venture Uganda Travel.

These once critically endangered species were in late 2018 officially reclassified to endangered.

To see mountain gorillas in their natural environment, go gorilla tracking. 8 visitors are allowed per gorilla family per day for an hour. The minimum age for participants is 15. You can also choose to take part in gorilla habituation – an experience which involves spending time among gorillas and slowly and gently introducing them to the presence of humans.
