Personalising Your Wildlife Safari in Uganda

Uganda is renowned for its impressive wildlife and it’s fair to say that most tourists come to Uganda for that reason, especially to see the mountain gorillas and primates.

However, the beauty of booking with Venture Uganda is that clients can adapt wildlife experiences to their personal interests (like photography), combine them with cultural or community activities or add extra activities around their special interests.

That’s why this month we’re sharing some ideas for personalising your safari itinerary.

Something For Everyone!

One of the best things about adventuring with us is that there is something for everyone! Whether you’re a solo traveller, a couple, a family or a small group, there are plenty of activities to interest all.

If, for example, you are a multi-generational family, we can craft an itinerary with a mix of activities for kids, parents and grandies. While the kids have fun at a bushcraft session, adults can relax at the lodge. Babysitters can also be booked so parents can enjoy evening drinks.

Similarly, if you are a couple or group on a wildlife safari and some are keener on, say, bird watching than others, we can arrange excellent birding opportunities with alternative activities for those who prefer something different – perhaps a community visit or boat cruise.

This is the joy of a truly tailor-made holiday: it’s designed just for you. We take the time to learn about you and then use our local knowledge to create the perfect itinerary.

Meet the locals

When you visit a country like Uganda you will, no doubt, visit the must-see locations and enjoy the iconic activities, but why not take the time to dig a little deeper? Get to know more about local life. You will surely have a richer holiday and make a greater impact too.

Uganda is known for its warm, friendly people and locals genuinely enjoy meeting visitors. We work with a number of community groups that offer activities designed to immerse you in their culture. Participate in making banana gin or see bark cloth being made and learn about its cultural significance. Visit a coffee farm or join beekeepers in their gardens. We have so many options.

Such activities are highly enjoyable. They allow great interaction, help you understand the place you are visiting and ensure tourism supports more people by boosting incomes. Don’t just make memories, make an impact too.

Photographer’s Paradise

Uganda has so much to offer the wildlife photographer and Venture Uganda travel consultants will use their local knowledge to craft personalised itineraries to maximise the photography opportunities. Our safari guides will then be with you every step of the way to ensure that you have the best experience.

We can take you to the best locations, arrange iconic activities like gorilla or big cat tracking, view wildlife in so many ways, including on foot, by vehicle and by boat. We can search for your target species, use site guides, give you more time on game drives, provide charging facilities in our vehicles, and adapt in the field so you can focus on what you want. In short, we do everything we can so you can enjoy successful wildlife photography and capture those amazing images.

Photography can be done all year round and you may find Uganda a little quieter than some of the other safari destinations.
