Why Uganda Is Worth the Journey

Why Uganda Is Worth the Journey

We have many clients who travel to Uganda from distant countries, and we truly appreciate those who make the effort to visit our beautiful home.

But what makes Uganda worth the journey?

From breath-taking landscapes that support a diverse ecosystem of wildlife, bird life and plants, to rich cultural experiences, unforgettable adventures and warm, friendly people; Uganda offers so much more than just a holiday.

In this month’s newsletter, we’re going to share some of the reasons we believe Uganda is a destination worth travelling for.

A Leisurely Start

A holiday adventure doesn’t have to be non-stop. In fact, we encourage taking the time to soak it all in.

Upon arrival in Entebbe, you’ll receive a warm welcome before settling into one of the town’s peaceful boutique hotels, such as The Boma or Hotel No.5. The next morning will be a leisurely one, especially if your flight comes in late the night before. Wake up in your own time, and enjoy breakfast in the warm sun, overlooking the beautiful gardens to the sound of birdsong.

In the afternoon, take a stroll around the Botanical Gardens by Lake Victoria and admire the plants, bird life, and a few cheeky monkeys before savouring a delicious evening dinner, leaving you refreshed and ready to start exploring the next day.

So, You’ve Come for the Wildlife, Right?

We promise you won’t be disappointed on a safari in Uganda when it comes to wildlife viewing. We’re proud to be home to the Big 5, along with primates, diverse mammals and 1000+ bird species! We are also one of only three places in the world where you can see mountain gorillas!

There’s no shortage of ways to view wildlife here, from game drives and boat cruises to safari walks, and horseback and mountain bike safaris. Our wild, vast and beautiful national parks offer you the chance to see incredible wildlife in its natural habitat. This truly authentic wildlife experience is one that will stay with you forever.

Experience Community, Culture & Connection

Many of our visitors want to learn more about Uganda during their trip and we love offering a wide range of cultural and community activities to do just that. You will have the chance to interact with local people and gain insight into different aspects of Ugandan culture and daily life, all while having plenty of fun.

A taste of our cultural and community activities:

• Meet the Batwa tribe

• Enjoy cultural dance performances

Warm Hospitality at Kyaninga Lodge

Clients travelling from afar will certainly appreciate a good bed, a comfortable room, tasty food, attentive services and peaceful surroundings. The good news? We know plenty of places like that and they don’t always cost a fortune.

Ugandans are experts when it comes to providing the warmest of welcomes and genuine hospitality, which Kyaninga Lodge does particularly well! A Venture Uganda favourite, this eco-friendly lodge overlooks the stunning Lake Kyaninga, set to the backdrop of the Rwenzori mountains.

The lodge offers 9 exclusive luxury cottages made from natural local materials that blend in with the spectacular landscape, which you can admire from your own large private deck.

There’s plenty to do during your stay, including crater lake and forest walks, and the lodge is a reasonable distance from Kibale, Semuliki, and Queen Elizabeth National Parks. There are opportunities to get involved with local charity activities, too.

Beyond tranquillity and rejuvenation, staying at Kyaninga Lodge also minimises your carbon footprint, combining comfort with kindness.
